Once we have removed trees there is the question of the stump. There can be a few options with stumps:-

  • If you want an uninterrupted lawn then stump grinding is recommended, this process takes the stump and surrounding roots down to approximately 5 to 6 inches below the surrounding grounds height.
  • If there is a flower bed or stone wall going in then it is best to dig the stump out, this can be done by hand or digger, size/access dependant.
  • In some cases we have left the stump at table or chair height, with a level finish, some times with a backrest, but don’t ask us to carve it, we are tree surgeons not artists!
